Description
The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum is offering a free program on at 3:30pm on August 2 to help local outdoors enthusiasts prepare for the upcoming hunting season. Hog hunting will be discussed by guide Steven Travis while Hunter Barber with Shooters Texas will update hunters about modern ammunition. Also participating will be Luke Clayton, veteran outdoor writer and radio/TV host whose column appears in the Terrell Tribune and more than 40 other newspapers.
“This time of year, many Texans’ thoughts turn to the upcoming hunting season,” explained Patrick Hotard, executive director, “so, we thought we’d offer the community another hunting program. There will be plenty of time for questions with door prize drawings and refreshments after the program which starts at 3:30 pm.”
Hog Hunting at Night will be Steven Travis’ topic. A native Texan and former law enforcement officer, he brings more than two decades of experience to the subject. A full time guide, ,he works with Three Curl Outfitters in Waxahachie, the largest wild hog hunting operation in central Texas.
Hunter Barber, general manager of Shooters Texas, a full-service gun store, shooting range and training facility, will discuss modern ammunition for modern hunting. A life-long hunter and shooter with a degree from Stephen F, Austin State University, he has worked on ranches that specialized in wildlife management before establishing Shooters Texas.
Joining the question-and-answer will be outdoor columnist Luke Clayton, a life-long hunter and fisherman and the producer of their weekly video series, “A Sportsman Life”, Jeff Rice. The Catfish Radio program is heard on 22 radio stations. He also offers programming on KETR public radio and a weekly podcast on Sporting Classics Daily.
