Job Description:

The Psychiatrist works under the supervision of the Medical Director, and is responsible for providing psychiatric and physical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of clientele in an outpatient psychiatric clinic that serves individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Services may be provided in person or through telemedicine media.  Responsibilities also include daily electronic documentation of service records that support the community MH record system.  Position functions as a member of the clinical treatment team, and coordinates treatment modalities.  Also consults with other clinical staff on difficult cases, participates in quality assurance activities, and acts as liaison with other community providers.  Position may have the option to provide services from home via telemedicine media.  Some travel within the 12-county local service area may be required.  Travel to quarterly medical staff workgroups will be required of incumbent who lives within 100 mile radius of Terrell.

Salary $235,000/annually

Eligible for Stipend:Performance Incentive Bonus; $12,000 annually, $500 earned per pay period

Exempt Position 8am-5pm flex

Job Requirements:

Requires a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited professional college or university with a valid license to practice medicine in the state of Texas, plus three (3) years of licensed medical practice, and successful completion of an approved psychiatry residency training program.  Must have proficient computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook with experience utilizing an electronic medical records.  Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, as well as personal automobile liability insurance as required by the state of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

Board certification or eligibility; Medication Assisted Treatment Program and Assertive Community Treatment Team experience. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
